Melissa Scholes Young will read from her latest novel The Hive which is about the Fehler sisters, who “wanted to be more than bug girls.” A professor in Literature at American University, Scholes Young has had work published in the Atlantic, Washington Post, Poets & Writers, Ploughshares, Literary Hub and elsewhere.
The reading will begin in the workshop at 6 pm, but visitors may cut flowers from the field before or after, 5-8 pm. See the add-on option below. Attendance to the reading is free, but all guests must register.

Parking and check-in—Park on the lawn along our extensive driveway, but do NOT park along Kauffman Road. The turn is dangerous. Find your way to our red workshop in the backyard to check in.
